Description

A healthy church is generous with its resources (money, time, facilities, technology, etc.) for the sake of the gospel. It actively financially and personally supports its regional conference as well as the denomination. Money and facilities are ultimately seen as means of mission. Congregants are also generous with their time, volunteering both at the church and in the community.

Guiding Scripture Passages

1 Chron. 29:9

Then the people rejoiced because these had given willingly, for with single mind they had offered freely to the Lord; King David also rejoiced greatly.

1 Peter 4:10

Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.

Considerations Regarding Your Score

  • What percentage have you set aside for your regional conference? For the denomination?
  • How easily does the church designate funds for mission? How much resistance to spending is experienced?
  • How many rules are in place for those who wish to use your facilities for mission? Are those regulations excessive and inhospitable?
  • How often do people control how specific spaces are used?
  • How might you use your facility for mission in a new way?
  • What percentage of your budget is designated for mission? Local? Global?
  • How might you increase the number of church and community volunteers in the congregation?
  • How have you equipped people to be good stewards?
